Yesterday, Mommy went to see the Really Nice Lady next door because she got the feral kittens from the shelter. Remember those two? The ones who bit and scratched Mommy up pretty good? They cleared quarantine so the Really Nice Lady was able to take them home and bring them to the V-E-T for their shots. The V-E-T said the kittens were about eight weeks old and were in pretty good health. The only problem was that they had the worms, but I think all kittens that have been rescued start out with the worms. I had worms too. Mommy is very glad to hear that they were doing so well. The Really Nice Lady named them Tippy ('cause he's black with a white tip to his tail) and Charlie.
The only problem now is catching the other two. They are living under Daddy's truck some of the time. Daddy won't drive his truck until they are caught which annoys him 'cause he doesn't like Mommy's car very much. The Really Nice Lady, though, has a scheme to catch them. She's gonna start putting Stinky Goodness inside of a really big cat carrier with the door open. Once they get comfortable going in there, she'll close the door using a really long rope. Hopefully it works. We don't want anything bad to happen to those cute kittens. If anybody has any other suggestions, we would appreciate hearing them.

Oh good luck!
Hopefully this plan will work. I do know you can also often rent real traps for cats from some vets or humane societies. Usually you leave them a deposit until you are done using it. You might want to look into that before cadging one together on your own because if it doesn't work right and they get spooked, it will make it all that much harder to catch them.
We hope you can catch those kittens! And like Sparkle said, sometimes you can rent a Hav-A-Heart trap from a shelter or rescue group. One of our local pet stores rents them. The trap door closes as soon as the kitty walks in.
I'm sooooo happy to hear about Tippy and Charlie! And I hope those other kittens get catched also pretty soon and find good people to take care of them.
Mom ended up buying her own humane trap when out feral momma cat kept having kittens. Its so easy to put the food dish in there and *snap* it closes behind them when the step on the pressure plate!
She tried the tricks with the carrier doors but you have to be sure you get no bounce back with it or they escape! Once she & dad made a "drop trap" you can look it up online....but just buying our own trap made the most sense and it works great!
Our police department also rents them for 2 weeks at a time, actually its free but a $40 deposit that you get back when you return the trap. Maybe yours does that too. She needed a bigger trap to get the momma cat a couple weeks ago and thats what she did for her. Now she's all spayed and happy.
We hope they are catched! Better to live inside than outside!!!
Just stopping by to say Hi to efurrybody! Hope all is well :-)
